Mike about Money | Highest Savings Rates

Here are the top Online Savings Accounts by Interest rate paid. If you haven't checked your savings account interest rate lately, this is a perfect time to take a look. Chances are you are getting paid less than 1% if you have your savings account at the same bank as your checking account.

American Express is number one on the list right now, is paying out over 1.4% Annual Percentage Yield as it attempts to gain more of the consumer banking market. Take advantage while it lasts. Another financial institution is bound to come along and go higher, but in the meantime, AMEX's offer is very appealing. It's been a long time since any financial institution has paid out this much for a savings account. We also like AMEX because there is no minimum deposit and no fees to open your online savings account.

Here is the entire list of high interest savings accounts:

  1. American Express, 1.45% APY.
  2. Goldman Sachs Bank, 1.20% APY.
